What is Full Mouth Rehabilitation?

Don’t just patch up your smile. Completely reinvent it with a personalized full mouth rehabilitation designed to erase pain, restore ultimate strength, and give you back your absolute confidence.

Full mouth rehabilitation is a comprehensive process of rebuilding and restoring the teeth, bite, and smile when there has been significant wear, breakdown, damage, tooth loss, or failing dental work. The goal is not simply to repair teeth. It is to restore long-term health, proper function, comfort, aesthetics, and confidence.

Experience matters in full mouth rehabilitation

Full mouth rehabilitation is one of the most complex areas of dentistry. It requires far more than simply repairing damaged teeth. Success depends on understanding disease, bite function, jaw position, smile design, jaw health, risk factors, materials, and long-term predictability. Dr. Shawn Knorr, DDS has been performing full mouth rehabilitations for more than 15 years and has dedicated a significant concentration of his practice to helping patients with severe wear, failing dental work, broken teeth, bite collapse, and complex restorative concerns.

Why teeth break downs matter

Many patients seeking full mouth rehabilitation have already spent years and sometimes decades in dealing with dental problems. Some have invested significant time and money into dental treatment, only to experience continued breakdown because the root cause of the problem was never identified or treated. At Forever Smiles, we believe in diagnosing first and not rushing into treatment. Before rebuilding the smile, we carefully evaluate the risk factors and disease processes that contributed to the destruction of the teeth in the first place. Because if the underlying problem remains untreated, even beautiful dentistry can fail.

A risk-factor approach to long-term success

Using a Kois-inspired philosophy, Dr. Knorr evaluates the factors that may be contributing to dental breakdown, including: gum disease (periodontal disease), high cavity or decay risk, acid erosion and enamel wear, teeth grinding and clenching (bruxism), bite instability and jaw dysfunction (TMJ/TMD), airway and sleep-related concerns, including sleep apnea, as well as missing teeth and bite collapse.

Stabilizing the foundation

Our philosophy is simple: before rebuilding the teeth, we first stabilize the foundation. If gum disease is present, it must be controlled. If cavity risk is high, we work to understand why and reduce the risk of future decay. If grinding, clenching, bite instability, or jaw dysfunction is contributing to breakdown, those issues must be stabilized. And if airway or sleep concerns may be contributing to tooth destruction, those concerns deserve attention. One of the most overlooked contributors to severe dental wear is sleep-disordered breathing. Many patients with severely worn, fractured, or collapsing teeth also struggle with grinding, clenching, poor sleep, airway obstruction, or acid exposure that may accelerate tooth destruction over time. When appropriate, these underlying concerns are addressed before major restorative treatment begins.

This is never a rushed process

At Forever Smiles, full mouth rehabilitation begins with listening. We take time to understand: what led to the condition of your teeth, your concerns and frustrations, your functional issues (chewing, pain, wear, bite problems), your aesthetic goals and expectations, your health and risk factors, and your timeline and financial considerations. Because the best dentistry happens when treatment is customized around the patient and not forced into a one-size-fits-all approach. Before final restorations are completed, we work to establish a bite position that is healthy, stable, and predictable.

Beautiful smiles backed by digital precision

Once the underlying risk factors are stabilized, we use an advanced digital workflow to design your smile with precision. Using advanced digital technology, smile design principles, premium materials, and high-end laboratory techniques, we carefully establish: roper tooth position, smile aesthetics and facial harmony, functional bite relationships, and long-term strength and durability. Modern dentistry allows us to create beautiful, natural-looking results with a level of precision and predictability never before possible.

Life-changing results: Often faster than patients expect

Many patients assume full mouth rehabilitation will take years. In reality, modern digital dentistry allows remarkable transformations to happen much more efficiently than in the past. For less complex smile transformations, dramatic improvements may happen within weeks to a few months after planning begins. For more complex cases involving implants, healing, grafting, or larger reconstruction, treatment may take approximately six to eight months depending on the complexity of treatment and biological healing. The goal is never to rush treatment. The goal is to do it correctly.

A customized plan for your goals

No two patients are the same. Some patients may need crowns and bridges. Others may benefit from conservative bonded restorations, orthodontics, bite correction, implant treatment, sleep treatment, or a combination of therapies. Our role is to understand your goals, diagnose the causes of breakdown, and create a customized solution designed around your health, priorities, timeline, and budget. At Forever Smiles, we’ll meet you exactly where you are with zero judgment and help you rebuild not only your smile, but the health and function behind it. Schedule a consultation to learn whether full mouth rehabilitation may be right for you.

Quick, easy, and completely commitment-free — from the comfort of your home.
